Nickatie graduated from Hartpury College in Glos in 1992 with a HND in Equine Science. She knew she wanted to work therapeutically with people and horses but it took a while to find the right therapy. In 2001 she found Bowen and was so impressed with how it changed her horse she started her training to become an Equine Muscle Release Therapist graduating in 2004. Her human Bowen Technique qualification was gained a year later in 2005 with the Cat and Canine component being gained in 2009. In 2007 Nickatie did her Reiki level 1 and 2 with her Reiki master and teacher qualification being taken in 2017. During her training Nickatie worked for the careers service in Herefordshire and Worcestershire offering training and services to schools. This work became part time and eventually ceased to give way to busy full time employment. In 2008 Nickatie took on a part time job as a complementary therapy coordinator at St Michael’s Hospice where she began her training in palliative care. She gained a diploma in palliative care and then her degree in applied health sciences. After 18 months at the hospice she became the leader of the day services department and eventually therapies too. This role saw her managing a staff of approx 20 people from nurses to physiotherapists to complementary therapists. In 2017 Nickatie qualified as an ILM Coach which added another different dimension to her qualifications meaning she can coach within businesses but also more personal life coaching. Horses are a big part of Nickatie’s life with her clients ranging from local owners with one horse to high level competition riders. Along side this she specialises in treating foals from birth onwards helping to ensure they are straight from the start thus producing a finely honed athlete.
