Course Prospectus

The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia, through it's worldwide network of instructors offers a simple to follow set of seven modules in which to complete the basic course work. The course curriculum is outlined below.

Should you wish to change instructors mid-way through your training - it's no problem - the course content remains the same. Even if you decide to take a course in another country such as the USA, Canada, NZ or Australia, you would still slot right into the next module without any effort.

The seven modules that make up the course are outlined below:

Modules 1-7 must be taken in consecutive order

Module 1: Bowtech procedures for lower back, upper back, neck, kidney, head. (2 days)

Module 2: Bowtech procedures for hamstrings, respiratory, shoulders, cramp (2 days)

Module 3: Bowtech procedures for pelvis, elbow & wrist, sacrum, knee.  Review of previous modules. (2 days)

Module 4: Bowtech procedures for upper respiratory tract and tempero-mandibular joint,          ankle & foot procedures including strapping techniques, babies & children, forearm and Bowen seated. Review of previous modules. (2 days)

Module 5: Bowtech procedures for gall bladder, chest, coccyx, additional shoulder procedures, Revision of previous modules. (2 days)

Module 6: Bowtech procedures for bed-wetting, buttock pains, bursitis, perineum, thoracic,  recommendations to aid conception. Review of previous modules. (2 days)

Review of Modules 1 -6: A complete revision of all procedures learnt in 1 - 6  (2 days)

Module 7: Review and assessment of all Bowtech procedures to assess competency.                   Successful candidates will receive a Diploma  of proficiency from  BTAA (The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia). (2 days).

 

A Bowtech Diploma of proficiency will then be awarded to those who qualify.

Cost:

  • Module 1 - £160 + £40 for registration with Bowtech (The Original Bowen Technique)
  • Module 2 - £160 + £40 for Bowen Association UK Student Membership Fee
  • Module 3 to 6 - £160
  • Review of Modules 1 to 6 - £160
  • Module 7 - £180

Notes for Payment of Course Fees
            An initial payment  of £180 secures your place and will be held as your payment for
            Module 7. This fee is non refundable if you cease training prior to module 7.           

  • Payment for Modules 1 & 2 (£400) is due two weeks prior to course commencement date.
  • Payment for Modules 3 & 4 (£320) is due two weeks prior to commencement of Module 3
  • Payment for Modules 5 & 6 (£320) is due two weeks prior to commencement of Module 5
  • Payment for Review modules 1 - 6 (£160) is due two weeks prior to commencement of Review dates
  • Payment for Module 7 is covered by your initial payment of £180
  • All fees are due as explained in the above list, unless you make other arrangements with your chosen Tutor.
  • All course fees are payable in (£) Sterling only unless you make other arrangements with your Tutor.
  • Changes of course fee arrangements are made at the discretion of the Tutors.

Notes about the course

  • Modules 1 and 2 are often held on consecutive weeks.
  • Each module thereafter will be approximately 6 –8 weeks apart.
  • After module 2, each module commences with a review of the previous module course work.  This includes a written and practical assessment.
  • A total of ten case studies are to be completed by the student during the course.
  • The entire course takes approximately 9 – 12 months to complete.
  • Upon successful completion of module 7, a Certificate of Proficiency will be issued on behalf of Oswald Rentsch, founder of The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia.

The Seven Module Format - it couldn't be easier!

Simply follow the comprehensive training manual. All the Bowen moves are clearly identified with photographs, extensive text and diagrams such as the one below. Just transpose what you see from the manual to the body. The many practical demonstrations and practice sessions throughout the course ensure you see, feel and understand exactly what's being taught.
